I have problems with BISS, what do I do?
Drink a coffee or tea for 5-10 minutes. Leave your workplace and try to distract yourself. After that, sit down in front of the Computer again and think if you missed something. Sometimes a longer break can also help. The brain continues to work in the subconscious and usually solves the problems on its own. This happens to all of us and resting in between keeps you healthier.
If it still doesn't work out, feel free to call us. We will be happy to help you. That is our recipe for success. Please have TeamViewer ready. We also like to use Wetransfer to send larger data.
Why does the printing process "pop / smack"?
During the printing process, especially during the first layers, this noise is completely normal and even a good sign. It means that the printed layer is detaching from the film and sticking to the build platform. As the process continues, this noise becomes more and more quiet.
Why are the first layers thicker?
In the slicing software, the extra is set to print the first layers "thicker". To be precise, the first layers are overexposed to create a good base for the rest of the print. Since the mechanics prevent the resin from "growing" up or down, the 3D printing material "grows" in width.
What happens exactly?
The UV exposure releases so-called radicals (H+ ions) in the resin and triggers a polymerization (chain reaction). Due to the high exposure, more and more radicals are released and the polymerization expands. The build platform moves up by 50µm per layer, the resin flows in, then exposure takes place and polymerization of the resin begins.
Why are the discs of several printers yellow/yellowish?
The yellow discs do not allow UV light (100 - 400nm) to pass through. Therefore, no radicals are released and the material remains stable in the Printer.
How do I get the model off the build platform?
To remove the model from the platform, use a scraper or a spatula. You can find the accessories in our store. To help you can additionally take a hammer, we do not offer in the store.Now do not ask: "Why that then not, what is that?" Because we do not offer "dental hammer" for 100€, but deal fairly with our customers.
What do I do after I remove the model from the build platform?
Clean the model in an ultrasonic bath with isopropanol. You do not have to change the contents of your ultrasonic bath for this. You can also simply fill a jam jar with isopropanol, put your model in it and place it together in your ultrasonic bath. 2-3 minutes should be enough for this. Never leave your print in isopropanol for more than 5 minutes. This can lead to deformation of the model or similar...
After that, the model must be cured for some time in the light curing unit. Depending on the resin you have used, the number of flashes or the duration of the treatment varies. Since there are different light curing units, we can only give general exposure times.
I was on vacation and find that there is still resin in the 3D printer. Do I have to dispose of it?
Not necessarily. Take a business card and mix through the tub with it. Be careful that the material does not spill over. Happens every once in a while, but it's no big deal. Make sure that you do not damage the display when cleaning and also clean the tub carefully from below.
Basically, there should be no solid material from old printing processes in the tray. This can destroy the film and, in the worst case, the printer. If you find solids, you can filter the material through a paper filter and continue working with the filtered material.
What do I do about misprints, where do misprints come from?
There are several answers to this problem. We try to go from simple to difficult here.
- The building platform is "leveled" incorrectly. Most often, only a part in the middle is printed but material is missing on the sides.
This may be due to improper handling when removing the model or may be due to misalignment of the 3D printer. For example, align the Anycubic with the level and re-level the build platform. Make sure that the paper does not get stuck at a corner or is only held at the front or only at the back. The paper should be held by the whole build platform.
- The resin has not been properly homogenized. Mix straight unopened bottles for a long time.
- After the so-called "bottomlayers" I have holes in my material.
First, the material was homogenized (shaken) too much, so that air bubbles were created that could not escape from the material before the printing process. Especially with pigmented resin, it is difficult to see this. We recommend a bottle roller for homogenization. You can buy it in our online store: Buy the bottle roller.
Second, your 3D printer is still crooked ;-). Please align it as described above.
Before you continue printing, it is essential to check that there are no more solids in the tray. Either fish them out individually with a business card or filter them, e.g. via a tea strainer.
